Les tombes de Nakht-Min et d’Ari-Nefer, mises au jour par les fouilles de l’Ifao en 1922, furent inscrites au catalogue de la nécropole thébaine sous les numéros TT 291 et TT 290. La TT 291, qui appartient à la fin de la XVIIIe dynastie, fut englobée dans la construction de la TT 290 à l’époque ramesside, à cause, peut-être, d’une alliance des deux familles. Les sépultures, partageant une même façade, firent l’objet d’une publication commune. De la TT 291 il reste une chapelle au décor inachevé particulièrement intéressant, de la TT 290 un caveau aux couleurs vives, en assez bon état de conservation.

Pour des raisons inconnues, l’ouvrage que Bruyère et Kuentz devaient consacrer au sujet — ouvrage épuisé depuis longtemps —, parut en 1926 de manière très incomplète. A l’exception d’un chapitre de Kuentz, jamais rédigé, le travail prévu initialement a été retrouvé en 2012. L’Ifao publie ici pour la première fois l’ensemble du manuscrit et des illustrations que Bruyère avait remis à l’éditeur.

The tombs of Nakht-Min and Ari-Nefer, excavated by the Ifao in 1922, were registered in the catalogue of the Theban necropolis as numbers TT 291 and TT 290. TT 291, which dates to the end of the XVIIIth Dynasty, was engulfed by the construction of TT 290 in the Ramesside period, perhaps due to a connection between the two families. The sepulchres, sharing the same façade, were published together. The chapel from TT 291, with particularly interesting unfinished decoration, survives, and the burial chamber of TT 290 with lively colors is preserved in reasonably good condition.

For unknown reasons, the study that Bruyère and Kuentz intended to devote to the subject appeared in a very incomplete manner in 1926—a volume long out of print. With the exception of a chapter by Kuentz, never written, the work that had initially been planned was rediscovered in 2012. The Ifao now publishes for the first time the complete manuscript and illustrations that Bruyère had prepared for publication.
