The Center of Documentation keeps archives for the most important archaeological work done in the last century and up to the present, such as the rescue of the temples of Abu Simbel, Philae and Kalabsha from the waters of Lake Nasser due to the construction of the High Dam.
One of the most important tombs which was fully documented by the CEDAE is that of Khâemhat TT 57 in Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, which is now open to visitors. Khâemhat or MeH was an overseer of the granaries of Upper and Lower Egypt during the reign of Amenophis III.
